I brought these boots from Ebay for £50 and has not seen them before in any shops. But have been quite impressed. The Defrosters don’t have the insulation of bigger boots, so you might suffer in sub-zero conditions, but the level of waterproofing from the synthetic outer with an overlap flap covering the neoprene tongue and collar is impressive.

Add a fleecy, layered insole and they stay warmer than you might expect, and dry fast. Two Velcro fixing straps plus a top wrap mean a secure fit without needing to be too tight.

This supportive fit melded with a stiff, grippy sole and low weight makes them a great racing/hard-riding boot for all year round. Build is tough and they’re great value too. They are also light so the type of shoe they are and do not give the feeling of a big boot on the end of you leg. The grip is good then the going gets to tough to ride and then do not clog up with mud either.

As I have said these are not full witer ( snow) boots, but do work wellin almost all other conditions.
