A long long way off, but good to get this post started.

So a few questions,

Where ? I have to ask, but I expect 99% of us will vote Morzine as it was so good and so many trails in Morzine,Les Gets, Chatel to choose from.
When ? June,July,August
Who ?
How ? Fly,Drive,.....ride,walk.. Ok I expect Drive but again had to ask.

So views on all the above please.

Same as last year for me please.
The only thing I would change is your choice of swimwear Lee ;-)
- The secret to mountain biking is pretty simple. The slower you go the more likely it is you’ll crash.
- No one gets hurt in the air
- There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

First and foremost - I'm definitely in!

In terms of location, it's probably going to be difficult to look past Morzine as there's just so much choice. Nowhere else in Europe offers so much easily lift accessible DH terrain. I know we covered most of the main stuff last year in a week, but we hardly ventured off the beaten track at all. If we somehow get bored with what's immediately obvious, I'm sure there's plenty more if we're prepared to explore a bit ;) . One of the best aspects is that there seems to a good variety of trails to suit all - some jumpy, some quick and bermy, some steep and techy........the only thing that seems constant though is the braking bumps! Remember, there are also options to jump in the car/van and head over to Champery or Morgins if we want something different for a day as well.

That's not to say there aren't other options mind. Pila in the Aosta valley in Italy sounds like it's got plenty to offer. A WC DH track, a number of purpose buit freeride trails and an 11km, 1700m vertical singletrack descent back to the bottom of the Aosta valley (check out www.pinkbike.com/video/267264/ - looks awesome, like a cross between Black 8 in Les Arcs and Komatrau trail in Chatel). However, in general there's a lot less variety than Morzine, but that'll be the same with everywhere!

I'm easy on dates, whenever suits others. Might not want to leave it too late if we do choose Morzine though as those braking bumps will only get worse as the season wears on.........

Driving is definitely the best option especially with the van as we can take exactly what we want and don't have to worry about dismantiling the bikes for flights, where they could potentially get damaged/lost. However, appreciate there are financial implications on top of just fuel & tolls for Nath taking his van (servicing/breakdown cover/insurance.....etc). I'm more than happy to include these costs as part of the holiday as is unfair to expect Nath to cover them alone.

Anyhoo, that's my two penneth's worth.

Paul I think you are right, there was a lot in the morzine area, but there was even more than we missed. We did the canyon trail once, but I am sure we could have 20 times are fond a little bit different every time. Plus we could do a few days just over in Chatel. We almost missed Morzine altogether as the other trails were so good.

The only thing I would say it that may be we should review where stayed as depending on numbers then it might be too large, plus we might want to be more central ? But that is not something that need to get finalized for another 6 months yet.

The traveling down all so needed to be reviewed depending on how many decide to come, we need to make sure that it is the most cost effective, but the trip to Morzine was a lot cheaper in tolls and fuel than Les Arcs or Alp D’Huez.

Can I put a request in, now this might be controversial but I hope must agree…. CAN WE TAKE LESS TYRES THIS TIME !

Yeah, there's so much more to discover that I think we'd be crazy not to give it another go this year. Personally, I fancy spending some time on the red & black trails under the Les Lindarets lift on the way over to Chatel. Due to mechanicals and other issues I seem to recall we only gave them a brief go last year, but they were wicked and definitely worth sessioning. I could quite happily spend a whole morning just doing laps of those trails :) .

Shrek'sI in and happy to take the van. I am sure that we have four for it already me, Lee, Paul and Glyn so any others that are coming will need to sort out filling there transport up to best max the cost. I think Morzine again as there are lots of trails we only did a few times one of those being Plenney. We will have to go a bit earlier or slightly later than previous years as me and Harper are on holiday from around thge 6th July for two weeks. I would also say that we set a cut off of at the end Jan 2013 for people to be in or not as searching and sorting the right place takes time and effort and we need firm numbers to look at the right place. I am also happy to do the bank account saving thing again but I will only take electronic payments, no cash. :)
That al doo Donkey
