Someone targetted my garage again last night luckily my added security (not visible from the outside) did the job but the frame is a bit mashed from there crow bar.

Anyone got any tips for a miniture hidden camera a bit like the size you get on a lap top web cam that records. I am not techy when it comes to electronics.

Sorry to hear that mate. It's always the case though. Once you you've been done the first time they know you are gonna claim on the insurance.

Definitely report the attempt to the police though, then set up some flame throwers.

You could get an alarm from Neil?
The secret to mountain biking is pretty simple. The slower you go the more likely it is you’ll crash.

Thats crap mate !

I am not a security expert like some on the forum, but I would think a PIR alarm would be better. I dont think a video of some taking you bike is much help after they have gone. Personally (and my view only ) is a loud noise is a better way to stop them, with may be a sticker on the garage door saying it is now alarmed. Plus a VERY high powered security light that comes on and is so bright it wakes the rest of the street up. up Ha Ha...

There are some garage type alarms on Ebay that do not cost major costs. PIR would be a good start...but the sky is the limit.

Any you will NEVER stop them if they really want it, but it might put them off trying.
If at first you dont succeed, spend 6 hrs in casualty, then try again !!!

Nightmare Grant. Sorry to hear it as well.

My brother is a security alarm engineer so I'll ask him his advice when I see him next to see what he'd recommend as a cheap, effective deterrent and let you know (as Lee says, if they're determined, sometimes there's not a lot that can be done).

Grant et all,

As you know security systems are by business and is my profession. As posted before physical deterrents are the best, good locks, shutters etc etc. However the next step would be a proper intruder system installed by a NACOSS accredited company. Your insurance company would acknowledge this as a viable system. You can also then have the intruder on automatic police response but that is a yearly fee on top of the intruder kit and install.

Sorry Lee ebay not really an option on this one!!!!

Grant if you want to discuss further please feel free to call me. I can get you the kit trade and then put you in contact with one of my engineers who will do install for cash. I will then sort you with proper paperwork for your insurance company.

CCTV is probably not going to do anything. I a have access to some of the best CCTV systems in the world but I dont have any on my house. You could put a 'Looker' up which is basically a dummy camera. Its all about giving the impression you are fort knox rather than you are and not making your property a viable option for the low life. Ultimately without spending thousands there is only so much you can do.

Hope helps as said feel free to call me for advice and options available.
