Newbie here

Just registered the other week and only just spotted this thread. The trip sounds well decent but would be a jump in the deep end to say I will go having never met you guys yet. Plus I have a trip already booked the 7th Aug with the family so may be pushing funds and time off work but I can do some research (beg) into that detail.
Typically I come down with the lergy when I was going to come out this wknd to shed some festive fat. See how I fair 2moro, I might make it out Sun yet. Just got myself a light (arrived today) for night rides which I have never attempted before so I expect to come out mid week if the wknd is out.
Will let you know on Sun's thread if I will make it.
I have done AC/LW irregularly as not had too many folk to go along with as only a few mates MTB with one recently moving back to Scotland. Got up twice over festive break on my new bike but failed to climb up the muddy hill from the bottom enterance . Cwmcarn quite a few times. FOD twice. W2 twice. Laggan Wolftrax last year near Inverness. Trying to get my mate (the one who moved back to Scotland) interested in Glentress this year which may well end up being my summer holiday MTB trip. Could propose a trip there at some point.
My fiancee got me a european book of trails for crimbo which has some good ideas home and abroad.

Anyway, hope to meet some or all of you soon.

So it seem that there is a 99% chance that we are going back to the same place this year as last. I understand Paul wanting to look around, but I think he is going to find it very difficult to find better. I mean we had

Pro’s
Place to wash bike that nobody was walking by, so could leave to grad some tools for a few moment with out to much concern.
Parking right outside for both car and van
Secure’ish bike store
Good bike store that had a tiled floor to not to worried about a wet or muddy bike/shoes/kit
A nice bedroom each
Clean and tidy
A nice place to sit up high to sort of see the world go by
Not noisy
Easy to get back from with Les Gets or Morzine/super Morzine on the bike
Cheap super market just down the road
Clothes Washing facilities (this was very handy last year)
Plenty of space so we do not feel on top of one another
TV,Hot Tub, Suna a bonus as it was there if you needed it.

Con’s
Could be closer to the centre of town, (but then some of the pros would change)

I think that this year we should be more relaxed and have more coffee stops and chill at lunch more to we can ride later in the day and I think we will get more miles in.
We also need to do more out of the way trails ( now we know the lay of the land this will be a lot easier )
Sit and drink more beer and relax on an evening ( I missed this last year as I was knackered by the end of the day)
To help with the above I am going to get A LOT fitter as it means you can fit more in to the trip.

Take less tyres !

nice one chaps, so to confirm we have 6 of us and are all happy to split the chalet for 7 days between all 6 people, although Justin and Grant will only be away for 5 days.
Kate has emailed me back and confirmed the chalet is still available and we can confirm if we want it at the begining of Feb.
I am more than happy to go there again as we know what we are getting and it ticks all the box's apart from it could be closer to the town center, but I did not find it an issue
So feel free to search the tinternet and see what you can find and check prices for the dates we are going as we are in the high season?
I will confirm via my normal spread sheet at the end of Jan the deposits I have got in the Morzine 2013 mega trip Bank account
