Moab: Porcupine Rim
Porcupine Rim might be arguablly the best aggressive mountain bike trail around. At 15 miles in length, you'll first climb 3 miles and 1,000' to an overlook of Castle Valley that will take your breath away. Did I say to don't forget your camera??? You'll get views remenescent of Monument Valley, Arizona. Then you'll bob up and down on a technical jeep road for another 1.5 miles while skirting Porcupine rim and being "tortured" with more views of Castle valley. Next, you'll begin a 2,800' downhill plunge for 11 miles that will have you gasping for air. Complete with big ledge drops, furious speed, and bone jarring rock gardens, you better put the seat down and have 6 inches of suspension to enjoy this sick bomber run. Oh...and did I mention the singletrack? The last 4 miles of Porcupine is some of the best singletrack in the World. Swoopy fast in sections, highly exposed on a cliff with killer views, and technical rock steeps that will bring you right back to focused reality fast....this singletrack has it all.
