Neil,

You can get a very good DH bike for less than £1000. For how much you ride these bikes in this country they are an expensive bike. So just get something that is a good frame and forks because the rest can always be change if needed.

I think as other have said, I am sure one of us will be happy to come long and look at a second hand one with you.

commencal supeme DH on ebay £520 35 min to go be quick would not spend more than £900 on it

Thanks Stuart for posting the Norco link and Justin for the Canyon. I have been looking at both and still unsure which way to go. Hoping something 2nd hand and half decent pops up on Pinkbike cos £1800 for a downhill bike to thrash seems a lot of money.
